One of the first works I did mixing painting and collage, this work felt very Japanese to me. The title is inspired by the ancient calendar names the Japanese used, referring to the daily changes occurring in nature. (Referenced in Memoris of a Geisha) This work felt like an illustration of an imaginary day called "Flowering after Snow." Embracing a quiet certitude, no matter the environment or weather - the flower will bloom even through the snow.
