This painting was inspired by a series of photos I took on a rainy day as we drove along the Amalfi Coast on my honeymoon. The rain and motion of the bus created abstract blurs of color and texture that I translated into a series of digital paintings. The ambiguity and softness of the image allows for the viewer to use their imagination and explore the painting as they would a memory of a place they visited in the past.

Art has played a prominent role in Rebecca's life since childhood. Her love for art inspired her to earn her BFA from RISD. She currently works as the Creative Director for a Fabric & Wallpaper Printing Company in Southern California, where she resides with her husband and daughter. Her personal work is inspired by her travels, art and architectural history, and finding the extraordinary in the everyday. less
