While driving on coastal highway 101, this view stunned me. I pulled over to wait for the enormous blue-gray cloud to pass and reveal the setting sun. Back in my studio, I painted the scene in the most indulgent brushstrokes possible, to make it a sensory feast, almost like frosting a cake in sunset colors.
