The creation process of my paper collages is often intuitive and can sometimes happen spontaneously; this piece was no exception. I began by collecting leftover cut-outs from my workspace, forming an abstract composition that brings to my mind ancient totems or enduring monuments, evoking a sense of appreciation and significance. Its monochromatic color scheme makes it a versatile addition to any space, whether adorning a gallery wall or standing alone as a focal point. I hope this piece invites viewers to embark on a journey of interpretation, discovering their own meanings within its design.

Alisa is a self-taught Ukrainian artist living in Spain. She finds inspiration in nature and the tactile world: simple shapes, organic textures, and everyday materials. Her work grows from a love for collage, mixed media, and traditional techniques, where fragments come together to form new visual narratives. She enjoys searching for old papers, books, and archival materials that carry traces of time. Yellowed pages, worn edges, and small imperfections remain visible in her work. less
