This elegant botanical art print features a fern species growing around here in the rocks of our local river called "maidenhair spleenwort". Quite appropriately, it's german name translates to "stonefeather". I am inspired by the little plants and weeds that often go unnoticed and have done a whole series of monotype prints featuring local plants, telling the story of our river valley this way. This mixed media piece started as a monotype print, mixed with handdrawing, and composed and enhanced digitally.
