About the work

As a nature lover and rock collector, I appreciate both common and precious stones and crystals. One of my favorites is a large amethyst specimen. I have photographed it many times and at various angles. Thinking about the geologic processes that created the amethyst, I experimented with various photographic filters and digital processes, creating an abstract miniature landscape.
