I am continually fascinated with the intricate detail of the dragonfly and have studied this fascinating winged insect in a variety of meduims. This latest print, a Minted exclusive, is a monotype that was produced by placing ink on a plexiglass plate, placing a sheet of paper on top of the plate, and creating a transfer print by rolling over the paper with a heavy metal roller called a 'pin press.' Subtle additions of watercolor we added after the transfer was made. The result is a bold, modern image that is a welcome departure from the more vintage inspired studies I had done previously.
