I took inspiration for this illustration from a little patch of spring blooms coming up along the sidewalk in my Chicago neighborhood. In April of 2020, with a shelter-in-place order, my family and I took daily walks through the neighborhood, stopping to admire many tiny details that would have been missed otherwise.
