A voyage through the imagination of stars and beyond. The paper is first painted with a photosensitive solution and left to dry in darkness. Once dried, the image is exposed in the sun. I love to watch what develops when I lay objects out on the sensitized photo paper in the sun. As I wash the image in water, a magical ghostly print of the object emerges. With its deep prussian blue and white highlights, the cyanotype is one of the earliest forms of photography. I love the way the photogram is both a photograph and also reminiscent of a painting.
