Evenings in Sayulita, Mexico are magic. The heat of the day has passed and the surf break is lit from behind by the glow of sunset. In this image I used intentional motion blur to create the illusion of brushstrokes and a soft, dream-like feel.

In 2019 after a tragic loss I turned to photography as a way to reconnect with the beauty, peace and meaning that could still be found in the world around me - even as I made my way through grief. My favourite photographs to make are the ones that not only capture a scene but also express an emotional experience.
