This oil painting was inspired by the warm, sun drenched color of a summer afternoon. With most landscape paintings I like to use a few inspiration photos for reference, which can sometimes be a crutch. With this painting, however, I didn't use any reference material and chose to keep it loose and spontaneous. This painting was originally painted as a set and may be paired with Flower Meadow 2.
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up on the Alberta prairies, living many years in coastal northern California, and now calling the Utah mountains home, I have a deep love of nature and the stunning vistas that inspire my work. With a BFA in Illustration, I’ve spent the past twenty five years raising four fantastic daughters and trying to find as much time as possible to paint. I work primarily in oils, and am constantly snapping photos to inspire future projects.
