I have always thought that there is such a graceful elegance to skateboarding, which emphasizes creativity and individuality. With this painting I tried to capture that smooth, gravity defying strength in an abstract, modern, and minimalistic style.

Growing up on the Alberta prairies, living many years in coastal northern California, and now calling the Utah mountains home, I have a deep love of nature and the stunning vistas that inspire my work. With a BFA in Illustration, I’ve spent the past twenty five years raising four fantastic daughters and trying to find as much time as possible to paint. I work primarily in oils, and am constantly snapping photos to inspire future projects.
