I have been painting skies and clouds for many years now and love it. It gives me great peace and is my "meditation." This piece is no exception. While simple and gestural, it feels like the gray days of the East Coast. "First of October" is the day it was created though it could be any day when the wind blows, the clouds are out and the sun quietly peeks through the sky. I love the feeling of this painting, to me it's a quiet, peaceful piece as opposed to some of my more dramatic or moody skies.
