First Snow
First Snow
The nostalgia of my childhood—hours of playtime in the haylofts of these giant buildings and loving all of the animals they housed—has transitioned into a fascination to document them as an artist. This particular landscape was inspired by an early winter trip through rural Pennsylvania. I created this 24x24 acrylic painting on clayboard of two barns surrounded by wheat fields sprinkled with their first snow. They matched their surroundings so closely, that they appeared to be dancing on top of the freshly-fallen bed of snow.
