Jihye Back Kim captures the embodiment of the moment with minimalist abstractions. Her paintings and installations represents the different phenomenons of capturing a moment in its own space. By respecting the materials itself, she is able to utilize the material's own unique personalities to create a sense of emptiness, yet with dynamic scenes and gestures to portray its dramatic traces of movements. The combination of the emptiness and movements create an energy, marking it as a lawless state, yet harmonious and docile in nature.
