I love to read, and have always loved paintings of people reading. This oil painting was inspired by a black and white photo that I decided to saturate with pattern and color. I used thick paint to add texture, and wanted it to feel whimsical and fun.

Growing up on the Alberta prairies, living many years in coastal northern California, and now calling the Utah mountains home, I have a deep love of nature and the stunning vistas that inspire my work. With a BFA in Illustration, I’ve spent the past twenty five years raising four fantastic daughters and trying to find as much time as possible to paint. I work primarily in oils, and am constantly snapping photos to inspire future projects.
