Evie Engram and Joe Koetter met in 2014 at summer camp, where they both worked as camp counselors. They returned to camp every summer and began dating in the fall of 2017. The following year, Joe surprised Evie by popping the question at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, one of their favorite date spots. "Joe makes fun of me for saying 'Yay!" instead of 'Yes!'" Evie says. The couple worked with wedding planner Lindsey Brunk to plan a bright and vibrant celebration for their 200 guests featuring a zingy "summer citrus" theme. Here, Evie shares their wedding story.
Evie and Joe met in the summer of 2014 while working at a summer camp in Texas, and started dating in the fall of 2017.
“Joe took me to Klyde Warren Park in Dallas (one of our favorite date spots!) on November 24th and popped the question! He makes fun of me for saying ‘Yay!’ instead of saying ‘Yes.’”
“One of my best friend’s sisters got married at the White Sparrow Barn. I went as a guest and fell in love, and loved the idea of getting married there ever since.”

Yellow, and more yellow! Made even more juicy with bright pinks and oranges.
The invitation designs fit perfectly with their bright citrus colors. “I liked that the design had a fun watercolor look to it and matched our colors perfectly! It felt like the perfect blend of modern and whimsical.”
They used matching Minted designs for invitations, save the dates and ceremony programs, as well as rehearsal dinner and bridal brunch invitations.
“It was easy to customize, and fun to identify styles we liked.”
“My dad’s speech and dancing with him and, of course, the most epic dance party.”
“Joe bawled the whole time, it was so sweet! And our flower girl (our officiant’s daughter) also individually placed each flower down as she walked the aisle.”
“Have fun! Let the day reflect who you are and what is important to you. Don’t get caught up in the little stuff. Your wedding day is about something so much more important than flowers and cake… but those are pretty fun, too!”
