You'll be surprised how easy it is to make your own fuzzy pom-poms (no special tools required!).
As the temperatures start to drop this month, projects involving a cozy bundle of yarn start to sound like just the ticket. Even if you don’t knit or crochet, you can still get in on the fun. Make this easy pom-pom garland in an afternoon and enjoy it all winter long.
Wrap a generous amount of yarn around your fingers as shown to create a small bundle.
Slide the yarn off your hand and knot a piece of string tightly around the center of the bundle. Trim the ends of the string.
Snip the loops on each end of the yarn bundle.
Fluff out the pom pom and carefully trim the edges to give it shape.
Repeat Steps 1-5 until you have enough to make a garland (amount will vary depending on the spacing you choose). Using a yarn needle, thread each pom pom onto a length of yarn to create a garland. When stringing the pom poms, be sure to pierce straight through the center so they are firmly secured.
Enjoy your finished garland! Festoon a doorway, mantel or tree.
