In early 2019, I began an (almost) daily practice of working within a limited color palette to offer youthful, energetic pieces. This piece, in particular, is part of a larger body of work that focuses on the female form. After giving birth to my two daughters, I realized my responsibility—as their mother and as a woman in the world—was to deconstruct my own unhelpful views about beauty and womanhood. Learning to love my body, simply because it is my instrument to use for good, and treating myself with the same gentleness and acceptance I offer to others is my ongoing work in this season of life.
