I'm a self-taught painter inspired by nature, wonder, and the small, fleeting moments and details of everyday life. Energized by vibrant colors, I love to play in all kinds of mediums, especially chalk pastel. I begin with a rough sketch for placement, then add progressive layers of color and textural strokes, blending with my fingers as I go. I love the immediacy of the chalk to capture the vibrancy and magic of what I have in mind.
