OUR ELEVATED TOUCHES TO PERSONALIZED THANK YOU CARDS

Each Minted's wedding invitation suite comes with a thank you card in matching design. If you are getting your invitations from Minted, we recommend you checking out the matching thank you card design as your final wedding stationery. Your guests will appreciate this consistency and it will help them reminisce the good time they had at your party.

Minted's personalized wedding thank you cards are available in several different sizes, styles, colors, and price points. Add photos and text to personalize the cards so they feel uniquely you and express your gratitude.

  • Flat card: A double-sided card featuring your photo or design on the front and a blank backing for you to write your personalized thank you message. Included are mailing envelopes and free recipient address printing. Cards are sized at 5.5" x 4.25" and can be arranged in a landscape or portrait format based on the picture you choose for the design.
  • Fold-over: Our classic fold-over style card depicts your photo or design on the front of the card and is blank on the inside, which is perfect for writing a longer note of appreciation. Included are mailing envelopes and free recipient address printing. Cards are the same 5.5” x 4.25” dimensions.
  • Postcard: Our postcards feature your photo or design on the front, with space on the back for your thank you message, additional photo, and the recipient's address. Please note that because they are meant to be sent as postcards, mailing envelopes are not included. The postcards are sized at 4.25" x 5.5."

CUSTOM WEDDING THANK YOU CARDS THAT UNIQUELY YOU

Fully express your gratitude to your guests by sending a beautiful correspondence that has been personalized to match your unique wedding style and theme. The best wedding thank you cards complement all other aspects of your event, including the save the date cards, invitations and table place cards. Examples of how to create custom wedding thank you cards that suit your theme abound.

At Minted, we offer a myriad of ways to customize your wedding thank you notes:

  • Add custom foil: Personalize your names and any text with our metallic foils for a luxurious touch. Minted's foil colors include gold, silver, rose gold, ice blue, black, and bronze. Give your kind words the shine they deserve!
  • Adjust the color scheme: Quickly change the color arrangement on your card to match your wedding colors. Choose from unique colors like blush, pebble, dusty blue, and pumpkin to name a few.
  • Choose stylish recipient address printing: Instead of handwriting everyone's mailing address on each envelope, Minted will address them for you, for free. Our address-printing is available in dozens of beautiful styles specifically designed to match your card so they are perfectly coordinated. Transfer the elegance of your correspondence on to the envelope.
  • Mail your card in a colored envelope: Instead of classic white envelopes, send your card in a colorful envelope that leaves an impression. Minted envelopes are available in antique rose, grey mist, cloud blue, aubergine, spruce, black, navy, and charcoal.

OUR HELPFUL ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When should we send the wedding thank you cards?

For all wedding gifts received prior to the actual ceremony, it is polite to send thank you notes two or three weeks after receiving your gift. This same rule applies to any gifts the couple may have received during an engagement party or bridal shower. Even if you verbally thanked gift-givers at these prior parties, it is still imperative that you follow up with a formal written note of appreciation.

For gifts received on your wedding day or gifted through a registry, it is best to send your thanks within three months. Recipients will understand that you may be busy with other commitments like the honeymoon, updating legal documents, or moving.

Who gets a wedding thank you card?

Write a card to everyone, even if they didn't give you a gift (more on this below). Expressing your gratitude to all of the people who made your wedding so special, regardless of what they did or did not give you, is what's important. Here's who you should send wedding thank you cards to:

  • All guests that made it to your wedding. It doesn’t matter if they gifted you a present or not.
  • All guests that were unable to be at the wedding but were still thoughtful enough to send a gift.
  • Anyone who sent you a gift but was not formally invited to the wedding.
  • The parents on both sides of the wedding party.
  • All bridesmaids and groomsmen. If you had flower girls or other children involved in your ceremony, be sure to express your gratitude to them as well.
  • Wedding vendors, including:
    • Wedding planner/coordinator
    • Caterer
    • Venue manager
    • Officiant
    • Florist
    • Photographer
    • Videographer
    • Cake designer
    • Bandleader / DJ
    • Hairstylist
    • Makeup artist
  • Any close friends and family that may have been present at the engagement party but missed the wedding. Don’t forget the people that volunteered to host the party!
  • Any friends that were present at your bridal shower and the hosts of that shower.
  • Anyone that may have pitched in financially to assist in your wedding festivities.

How do you word a thank you card? Do I have to write each one from scratch?

Coming up with a response template is the way to go. Once you've got a few good, heartfelt lines, then you are all set for using the same wording over and over again. This will save you tons of time. Just remember to be yourself. Even though writing thank you cards might feel a little formal, it's important that the note sounds like you. The goal is for the recipient to feel appreciated and happy upon reading your message, so keep it authentic.

What should I write on a wedding thank you card?

Here's a helpful thank you card template to use as a framework for your own message:

  • Begin with a few sentences that show your appreciation for the guest being able to attend your wedding. If they traveled a long way or had to endure a hardship, be sure to call that out in your note.
  • Dedicate a sentence or two to the exact gift that was given. Be sure to name the gift and explain how you intend to use the gift. If possible, highlight how the present is a perfect choice.
  • Finish with some memorable words from the heart.

Should I send a thank you card for a guest who attended the wedding but did not give us a gift?

Yes, you should still send them a thank you card. It’s understandable that you may be a bit disappointed that you didn’t receive a gift, but what matters more than a present is that they made it a point to travel and attend your wedding. Simply thank them for being with you on your special day. Keep your messaging gracious and heartfelt. Speak to a moment you shared with them at the wedding or how much it meant to you that you were able to celebrate with them in attendance. And you never know, there is always a possibility they simply forgot to get your gift in the chaos involved in planning to attend. Your thank you gesture may remind them they still need to send a wedding gift.

How do you thank multiple guests for a group gift?

If you received a gift from a group of people, you should send individual wedding thank you notes to each person who contributed to the present.

What's the best way to thank guests who give cash?

If you receive money as a wedding gift, be sure to express your gratitude and explain how you plan to use the funds. Maybe it is towards a down payment on a home, for a parasailing adventure during the honeymoon, or for a new leather sofa. The more specific you can be, the more personal your message will feel and the gift-giver will be able to see how you are getting enjoyment out of their contribution.

What type of card should we use?

Simple, blank-on-the-inside or blank-on-the-back thank you cards are best. Avoid getting cards pre-printed with a generic message. As we have mentioned above, if you can coordinate the cards to match the color and theme of your other wedding correspondence, that is best.

It is common to choose a favorite photo from the ceremony, reception, or honeymoon to feature on your card. But just be sure to time it right: Often times it can take a few weeks to a month before your wedding photographer will provide you with all your finished photographs. If you were planning to use one of these photos in your thank you card design, you may be caught off guard by the delay. Plan ahead and have your photographer send you a couple of memorable wedding portraits right after the wedding for the sole purpose of featuring them in your notes of appreciation. This is a common ask, and your wedding photographer should be able to accommodate this request.
