The fiddle-leaf fig tree has become a staple in contemporary interior design. Known for its large, graphic leaves, Ficus lyrata adds unmistakable style and drama to any space.
I made this print for those of you who, like me, have a less-than-green thumb or simply don't have room for a sprawling house plant. I wanted to capture the sophisticated aesthetic we love about the real thing and leave out the inevitable struggle to keep the real thing alive. Just hang it and enjoy.
I pressed an actual fiddle-leaf fig leaf for a month, then scanned it and digitally restored its natural color. The print is styled to look like it was taken from a book of vintage botanical illustrations, complete with custom, hand-drawn typography to display the species' scientific and common name.
