About the work
This piece was inspired by two happy–though very different -–experiences from my life: visiting my grandparents’ mid-century home while growing up, and observing the beautiful decorative tile work found throughout Europe during my semester abroad. I hope that this print evokes the warmth and happiness I felt from both experiences in a harmonious way.

My designs always begin with a hand-drawn sketch. My primary mediums include watercolor, gouache, pen and ink, and cut paper. I apply these to a variety of stationery, art, and surface design projects. While my style is always evolving, there are consistent threads throughout all of my work: vibrant color palettes and the interplay of negative space with expressive shapes.
