About the work

As a child I often searched the woods behind my family's home for treasures. I stumbled across a pile of beautiful old glass bottles—which I saved. They surface in my work time and again for the magical quality they held in my mind. This sketch was not premeditated, however I was quickly able to place its origins.

    Cynthia Oswald is an artist and designer working from Phoenixville, PA. After working in the advertising and printing industry for nearly 9 years as a Graphic Designer and Creative Web Director she took a part-time position in the illustration field to pursue her passion as an artist. She is currently working in her third floor studio with her dog, Bruno. Her greatest inspirations come from her collection of memorabilia and the surrounding landscape of Northern Chester County, PA.
