About the work

Francis Gold, from the Gold series, explores the physicality of paint as relationships between washes of color and forms develop over the surface. I want to show the dance that happens involving intention, control and spontaneity.These compositions show how stillness and activity coexist. They reveal their own truths evoking nostalgia and emotional weight. Through painting, I aspire to illuminate different themes on autonomy, the weight and lightness of being.
