Children have the simplest, best ways of describing complicated ideas. When I asked my daughter what "family" meant, she surprised me with this beautiful response. It's become a mantra in our house, and I hope it does in yours, too. I have recently been focusing on hand-lettering in my studio and draw inspiration from the long tradition of illumination by monks in the middle ages to the recent trends in chalk lettering.
