About the work
This is the second abstract painting of a pair. With its earthy tones and textures, it echoes the colors and sentiments of its companion piece. The first in this series has ideas of towering mountains, trees, rock and soil and this piece has hints of those elements while also being able to stand on its own. This piece came about through explorations with texture and lots of layering with special consideration for composition.
