About the work

Through color and texture "The Awakening" conveys renewed energy and newfound flow. The awakening juxtaposes the cold texture of concrete with a diverse colorway of rainbow inks: translucent, multi-faceted, vibrant -just like us. The texture of the sun rays is meant to evoke the look of ink on silk paper. Which provides a strong contrast against the roughened concrete of the background. This is symbolic of all the beauty that can flourish in spite of harsh conditions. Perseverance.
