Al Fresco Dining with Globe Lights

With warm weather here to stay, we are finding ourselves coming up with any excuse to dine al fresco with our friends. The perfect addition to any space? A string or three of globe lights to illuminate your space as you reach for that second glass of wine at sunset. I found some of my favorite outdoor dining spaces that show off this beautifully practical accessory, just in time for these warm spring nights.

DIY Party Topiaries

Spring is here and let the shower season begin! Parties don’t have to be complicated, just something simple on a stick is all you need to make someone smile. These topiaries would be so fun down the length of a Spring brunch or on each side of a buffet at a baby shower. A simple mix of plaster, like what kids use in elementary school, can make a great anchor to hold wood dowels.  In no time at all you can have a fun garden of party ready pretties.

Hello Baby! Birth Announcement Special Prize Winners

By Jen Casebeer, Community Editor

Spring has sprung! And we’re very excited to have a fresh batch of brand new birth announcements just in time. Birth announcements are all about announcing a little person in a big way and they’re incredibly meaningful for newly-minted moms and dads. So in our Hello Baby! Birth Announcement Challenge, we asked designers to create the most unique, beautiful, and modern birth announcements the world has ever seen (a pretty tall order). Our Design Community did not disappoint!

The designs below took chic birth announcements to another level and each stood out among a very impressive crowd in one of our special categories. Congratulations, winners!

Big Picture Award for the best full-bleed photo design

Precious Name” by Oscar & Emma

Karly has got to be one of the queens of understated elegance. This full-bleed design allows the customer to show off a great big photo of their new baby. The simple, minimalist white text shares all the information we want to know in a classic clean way (without taking away from the little one).

Scripted Wedding Favors

Writing love notes is not something that needs to be reserved for just your fiance. Craft up a sweet take on your wedding favors using your own handwriting and a simple sharpie pen. Penning out words of adoration, wedding vows, or a meaningful phrase onto a gift box – and then filling it with sweet treats – is the perfect leaving piece for guests.

Letterpress Invitation Wedding Inspiration

Black and White Letterpress

With the Wedding Letterpress Collection launching just a few short weeks ago, I couldn’t help but be inspired by all of the beautiful designs that were fresh to the minted website. Despite my love for color and chaos, this simple black, grey and white wedding invitation suite caught my eye. With the contrast of elegant and basic fonts mixed in with modern sketched foliage, the invitation seemed like a perfect start to an effortless design.

Circus badges

By Jeran McConnel, Oleander and Palm and a Minted Party Ambassador

A circus themed party is a classic right?  It’s great for boys or girls, there’s animals and it offers a great bright color palette.  I made these “Greatest Kid on Earth” badges for 3 special birthday kiddos to wear to their circus themed party this weekend.

DIY Hair Ties

This just might be our easiest DIY ever. It’s as simple as tying a knot! We’ve been seeing these hair elastics in our favorite stores and all over the web, and can’t get enough. They’d make a great party craft for girls, a cute addition to a bridesmaid’s kit, or maybe they’re just the thing to brighten up that laundry-day-ponytail.
