DIY Wedding Envelope Addressing Tips

By Joelle of A Charming Occasion

I am so excited to be here today to share some wedding envelope addressing tips for you. As someone who has addressed my fair share of envelopes (I offer hand lettering services through my etsy shop), I have learned a lot about this seemingly simple process.

Depending on the type of wedding you’re having, you may evaluate whether or not you want to hire a calligrapher to address your envelopes for you. This cost can get pretty high up there, so don’t worry if it isn’t in your budget! I am a firm believer that anyone can master the art of handwriting, if you just practice. Here are a few tips to take into consideration when addressing your own invitation envelopes…

DIY Painted Chargers

I’m crazy over chargers and making my place settings simple but beautiful. If you have ever looked for a pretty charger you know that your options are limited, unless you are willing to spend a bundle. I decided to take matters into my own hands and with cheap plastic chargers and a little craft paint, we have something unique, modern and colorful. This weekend is Memorial Day and kicks off the summer season, a time for BBQs, backyard feasts and family fun. This is the perfect addition to your summer table. These would even be gorgeous at a summer wedding or shower. You could even make spare sets for hostess gifts.

mini button name tags

We’ve all been stuck in awkward situations at parties where we hardly know any other guests and end up talking about the weather. As a host it’s sometimes hard to insure that conversation stays lively but if you make these cheeky mini button name tags for your guests, you’ll automatically give them something to talk about.

Mini Herb Pots for Mothers Day

Since Mother’s Day is coming up, I decided to make our moms a colorful trio of fresh and fragrant pots inspired by a recent trip to Provence. These little pots can be given as a group to each mom, or even used separately at a place setting for a Mother’s day brunch. The best part is, these mini pots will blossom into the summer months.

Mother’s Day Brunch Idea: DIY Tea Poms

Whether it’s a cup of tea for Mother’s Day or for a bridal shower, the plain tags at the end of a tea bag could use a little fun.  There’s no reason your can’t fix them up with a teeny tiny tissue pom. Choose her favorite flavor of tea (or yours) and dress up a simple breakfast or brunch with a pop of color.

Gather just a few items that you probably already have in your gift wrap supplies and whip one of these mini poms up in a flash.

photo booth strip mother’s day card

If there’s ever a holiday to gift something handmade, it’s definitely Mother’s Day. Moms have the power to look past the imperfections and love something just because of the thought that went into it. They tend to like things even more if the face of their sweet kid is involved too. So I made this photo strip card as something to accompany that breakfast in bed already in the works.

Easy Geometric Cake Toppers

I love anything geometric and when I found these great hexagon wood shapes, I pounced. Remember to keep your eyes open when you stop by the craft shop, because these lovelies were nestled in the paper aisle. Wood is so nice and pretty to work with for cake toppers. I love these au natural (they have a great darkened edge) for a modern bohemian vibe or paint them vibrant hues for fun hipster cake toppers. If you are short on time or just have a favorite bakery, forget making the cake, just pop these modern cake toppers in and call it a party.

snack box for new mamas

Exactly a year ago I was in the midst of post partum chaos and my friend delivered a few groceries to my doorstep including a carton of ice cream. My husband brought it up to the bed with a spoon and I remember saying out loud, “Ice cream has never tasted so good.” And I meant it. After that moment I vowed I would help every new mama I knew in some small way and so I created this snack box that is super easy to put together.
