DIY: Champagne Coupe Place Cards

Written by Kathleen Ballos of Snowdrop & Co

I recently discovered a cake-decorating store in my neighborhood and I can’t get enough of all the adorable cake toppers they have in stock! I saw these mini champagne coupes and immediately bought them all—they came in both clear and gold, but I love the look of the gold ones filled with pink cotton candy. At 20 cents each, they are a super affordable way to dress up your table for an upcoming bridal shower, bachelorette party, or birthday party. Cheers!

Minted CEO Mariam Naficy Hosts Artist Meetup in London

What was it like to attend a London meetup with Minted Founder and CEO Mariam Naficy? In the words of Minted Artist Pooja Pittie, “It was like an evening out with your girlfriends — if they were all artists! We sipped rosè, alfresco, in an historic bar in London. Everyone was so warm and friendly — I didn’t feel like I was meeting them for the first time.”

Pooja traveled a long way from her hometown of Chicago to visit family in London and attend the first U.K. meetup for Minted artists on July 27 at The American Bar inside the Stafford Hotel. Mariam was on holiday in the U.K. with her family, and as always, was thrilled to talk with some of Minted’s global community of artists.

“It was an honor to meet the CEO of Minted — a lovely lady with a calm aura,” said Jan Shepherd, pictured above left. Pooja Pittie, seated at right, organized an artist meetup in her hometown of Chicago in April 2016.

DIY: Simple Lace Crowns

Written by Sara Albers and Melissa Fenlon of Alice & Lois

This pretty lace crown is the perfect summer craft for all the ladies in your life. They’d be great for a summer garden party with your girlfriends or your daughter’s birthday celebration. All you need are a few supplies—lace trim and fabric stiffener—and you’re ready to make a pretty crown. We kept ours white but you could also use gold or silver paint to add some shimmer. Another idea: a craft station at your next gathering where guests can customize their own lace crowns with ribbon, flowers, and paint!

DIY: Easy Etched Drinking Glasses

Written by Sharon Garofalow of  Cupcakes and Cutlery

I love to entertain and have tons of glassware, and sometimes I put my own spin on my drinking glasses by etching patterns to make them more interesting. It’s a super-simple project but really goes a long way to make plain glasses much more fun—you could even gift a set as a housewarming or wedding present.
