Minted Real Wedding: Kelly & Andrew in San Clemente, CA

We’re hitting the beach for today’s Minted Real Wedding—specifically, sunny San Clemente, California—where attorneys Kelly Regan and David Andrew Brown tied the knot in front of their 120 guests. The couple, who first met in college and later reconnected in law school, hosted a charming seaside celebration with a classic blue-and-white color palette.

Tell us about the proposal!
Andrew proposed on Easter morning—we’d made Easter baskets for each other, and he hid the engagement ring in a plastic egg. I initially didn’t find the ring when I first looked in my basket, but he told me I had missed some chocolate and that I had to go back and look. And then he got down on one knee!

How did you hear about Minted, and how did you choose your wedding invitation?
I’ve used Minted for bridal shower invitations and engagement gifts for friends over the past few years, so I decided to use Minted for our save the dates (“Classically Stated” by Roxy for Minted). For our wedding invitations, I ordered samples from every printer I could find and visited several stationery stores, and we decided to go with Minted again (“Classic Letterpress” by Lauren Chism for Minted) because we really liked the quality of the invitations and the easy ordering process.

Did you add any special touches to your invitations to make them your own?
We added an extra liner and wrapped each invitation with a blue-and-white striped ribbon, which we also used throughout the entire wedding.

Minted News: Updates to the Artist Community Experience

After the launch of our redesigned artist community experience last month, we received a ton of great feedback from our community members and we’re excited to announce some new features and bug fixes today.

1. New: Challenges Activity Feed
Get up to date on what’s happening with challenges on the Challenges page. From there, you can click through to get more info on each currently open Challenge; you can also see the most-recent submissions for the different challenges in the activity feed. We’re planning to add latest comments, likes, and other challenge-related activity to the feed in near future.

2. New: View all Winners and Editor’s Picks for Each Challenge
Now you’ll be able to check out all of the winners and Editor’s Picks awards for any challenge on the Challenge page. (For example, you can now see all winners and Editors Picks for the West Elm Challenge that occurred earlier this year.)

3. Fix: Filter All Submissions in a Challenge to Find Open Polls
Now you can more easily weigh in on open polls in a challenge. Simply go to the homepage of that Challenge, go to the Submissions panel, and click on “Polls” in the “Browsing By” drop-down menu. This will filter all the submissions that have an open poll.

4. Fix: See All Submissions Sorted by Score Once Winners Have Been Announced
We’ve fixed the issue that had prevented you from sorting all design submissions in a challenge by a decreasing order of their score once the winners had been announced. Now, once you’re in the “Submissions” panel of a Challenge page, you will see an option to sort by “Score” in the “Sorted By” drop-down menu. (For example, check out this new sorting feature on the “On a Roll” fabric challenge page.)

5. Fix: Receive an Email When Your Design is “Liked” on the Challenge Page
When we launched our redesign last month, you no longer received an email when your submissions were liked by other artists on the Challenge pages. This is now fixed and you should once again be receiving an email when your design submissions are liked.

We hope you enjoy these latest additions and, as always, please share your feedback in the comments so we can continue to improve your artist experience on Minted.
