Easy Homemade Barbecue Sauce Recipe:
1/4 cup sweet onion
1 minced garlic clove
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
16 oz ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup orange or apple juice
1/4 cup honey
1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1/4 chile powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring until ingredients are completely incorporated. Reduce heat to low and gently simmer until flavors have melded and sauce has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
