DIY: Thanksgiving Turkey Macarons

While they may not be ready to assist with Thanksgiving dinner prep just yet, your littlest guests can help decorate the table with these DIY turkey macarons. This project is simple enough for kids big and small—they’ll have a ton of fun making (and eating!) them while the turkey’s still in the oven.

DIY turkey macarons

• Macarons (store-bought or your favorite homemade version)
• Melting chocolate wafers
• Thick cake frosting
• Snowball Melty candies (or chocolate kisses)
• White pearl sprinkles

1. Insert the melting chocolate wafers into the macaron filling.

2. Use enough wafers to go around half the macaron cookie.

3. Use a dab of frosting to “glue” the Snowball Melty to the front of the cookie to be the turkey nose.

4. Use a dab of frosting to “glue” two white pearl sprinkles to be the eyes. Let it set for a few minutes so the frosting hardens.

Once the frosting has set, place the turkeys upright and display them with place cards or on the table for guests and little ones to snack on!
