Minted Parties: “Where the Wild Things Are” Halloween Bash

Happy Halloween! Isn’t it so great that it falls on a Friday this year? Halloween is one of our favorite holidays—no pressure, no gift giving, no traditions, just fun, costumes, and endless creative possibilities. Which is why we love this low-key backyard Halloween bash thrown by Jen Pinkston of The Effortless Chic—it’s full of clever “wild things” costumes, delicious food, and (of course!) creative Minted party decor pieces.

Read on to see all the adorably dressed-up “wild things” and all the party details…

We’re firm believers that the invite sets the tone for the party. Jen used Monstrous Fun Party Invitations by Lala Watkins and Blackboard Perfection party decor and menus by Rae Ann Kelly.

These—too cute!!—otter plates are from West Elm.

On the menu: Mini burgers, ghoulish grilled cheese sandwiches, and tomato-basil soup (for dipping!).

It’s amazing what a cookie cutter can do to a simple thing like grilled cheese.

Apple juice with striped straws, Minted garlands, and lots of comfy pillows complete the tableau.

Dessert included chocolate-dipped apple owls, pretzel wands, and marshmallow pops.

No surprise, the kids loved it!

On offer were different animal masks and tails—each child picked his or her favorite!

And, of course, there was an adorable tent…

Wishing you and yours an outlandishly good time tonight!

  1. I love the theme! I always rush to pull costumes together last minute but you’re right, this should be the least stressful holiday! Maybe next year 🙂
