DIY Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we’ve got you covered with this paper centerpiece idea. Use our printable template and any paper you choose to make the perfect accent for your Thanksgiving table or sideboard.

SUPPLIES

  • Template
  • 5-10 sheets of decorative paper
  • Crepe paper (optional)
  • Quick dry glue (such as Beacon 3-in-1) or hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Binder clips
  • Masking tape

STEP ONE

Print and cut out the small or large pumpkin template. Fold decorative paper several times so that it’s slightly larger than the template. Use masking tape to hold the template in place on top of the folded decorative paper, then cut through all layers at once. Repeat this process until you have about 20 pumpkin cut-outs. You may use more or less depending on your paper and fullness of finished pumpkin.

STEP TWO

Fold each of the pumpkin pieces in half as shown on the template.

STEP THREE

Stack all the pieces, lining up the folded edged. Secure with binder clips. Apply glue along the folded edges, making sure to completely cover them. It’s helpful to use a scrap piece of paper to spread the glue evenly. Set aside until glue is dry to the touch.

STEP FOUR

Fan out the pumpkin as shown and secure with additional glue if necessary.

STEP FIVE

Cut a rectangle from crepe paper (or any lightweight paper) and twist it into a stem. Glue it onto the top of the pumpkin.

STEP SIX

Tape a leaf template to a piece of decorative paper and cut out. Glue leaf to pumpkin.
