If you’d like a change from the usual place settings for your wedding or summer party, making your guests a sweet wooden name could be just what you need.
You can leave them natural if you are after a rustic look, or paint them the color of your theming so they fit beautifully into your decor.
Supplies:
- Wooden craft letters
- Balsa wood
- Wire (thin gauges are best)
- Glue
- Scissors
- X-acto knife
- Gold spray paint (optional, or use a color to suit your theme)
Balsa wood is really soft – you an easily cut it with an X-acto knife or similiar.
Step 1: Line your wooden letters up across your balsa wood and cut the wood to the correct length.
Step 2: Cut your wire into pieces – I used 10mm, however, it will depend on the size of your letters.
Step 3: Glue your wire pieces onto the back of your letters. Wait for them to dry before inserting.
Step 4: Insert your little letters into the balsa wood.
Step 5: You can paint your letters now or leave them natural. We painted ours gold.
These are such a cute way to add a typographic element to your wedding don’t you think?
