Decorating with Pastels

By Meta Coleman of One More Mushroom

This year I have noticed a lot of pastels in furniture and home accessories, particularly the colors pink and mint blue/green. Normally I am drawn to bright colors but I am really loving all the soft colors, there is something so calm and nostalgic about them.  It’s like a modern Scandinavian take on the fifties.

The pastels work in these spaces below because they are not competing with too many other colors or patterns.  There is a lot of white and light wood to compliment the pastels.

Here are a few pastels I would love to have in my home…

1.  Little Geometry Pillow, Ferm Living
2.  Drawing Swan, Collected by Taska
3.  Nerd Chair, Muuto
4.  Block Table, Normann Copenhagen
5.  Box Box Small, Design Within Reach
6.  Color Carpet Rug, A + R Store

Definitely loving pastels this year! Especially that minty bar cart! But now that the holidays are upon us, wishing for more jewel tones!
