As you know, the designs we received in the “Happily Ever After” wedding challenge were spectacular. What a body of work to congratulate the entire Minted community on! The designs were romantic and touching, and made many of us dream of marrying or re-living our wedding day just to use your designs! So many designs conjured up gorgeous wedding styling thoughts in our heads.
We agonized as a company for days and have had a terribly difficult time choosing the Editor’s Pick wedding collection winners and special award winners. There were about 10 other designers who were very close to being chosen, and each will be receiving a separate, special communication from us by Monday.
Having said that, we are thrilled to announce the winners, who will be invited to join Laura Hankins in launching wedding collections on Minted:
Gavin Wu of San Mateo, California is the talented designer behind Bumble Ink. The Minted team and customers alike are big fans of Gavin’s confident, graphical, whimsical style. Bumble Ink designs always seem to leave the right design details in and take the right details out, delivering maximum visual impact without clutter. Bumble Ink’s previous wedding designs (“Block Print Waves”, “A Faraway Destination”) have been a hit with customers, and we’re thrilled to launch a full Bumble Ink wedding invitation line.
J. Bartyn Design
Headed by Cambria Evans, J. Bartyn Design is based in Brooklyn, New York. The color, patterns, exquisite details, and sure typography of J. Bartyn designs (the hand-lettered font in the popular “Copenhagen Joy”, for example) have thrilled many on the Minted team and in the Minted community, leaving us wanting much more. We are very excited to see a full line of J. Bartyn wedding invitations launch on Minted.
Special Customer’s Favorite Award:
When we evaluated Minted customers’ votes separately, one designer’s designs kept coming up again and again as customer favorites. Rather than awarding the customer’s favorite award simply to one design, we’ve decided to award this to a designer and invite her to launch a collection. And this designer (drumroll, please…) is:
Amy Ehmann is the bright light behind Design Lotus of Washington, DC. Amy’s designs have consistently been customer favorites; she truly seems to have her finger on the pulse of what today’s customer wants. Design Lotus designs represent strong execution of a variety of styles, from the romantic and abstract “Midnight Vineyard” to the fresh take on a classic, “The Threshold.” Amy has also coached and helped many other designers with the community to improve their designs, thereby having an even broader effect on the Minted assortment than through her designs alone. We are excited to launch her line on Minted!
Tonight, we will send out an email announcing the winners of 100+ additional Editor’s Picks awards. On Monday, we’ll announce the recipients of additional special awards, including the “Best New Designer” prize. Until then, congratulations and our sincerest thank you to all who participated in this challenge and amazed us with your brilliant creativity.
