We were so lucky to get to work with two very talented ladies on our holiday ad photo shoot: Jordan Ferney from Oh Happy Day, a blog about parties and pretty things, and Suzanne Shade, the creative force behind The Beholder, a cool marketplace for artists. I think you’ll agree that the results were absolutely fabulous.
Our CEO & Founder Mariam Naficy, who also manages Minted’s overall brand positioning, was thrilled to bring on Suzanne Shade as the lead stylist for the entire campaign. “It was important to me that the holiday ad campaign communicate both our beautiful designs and that we source them from a community,” says Naficy. “I interviewed several talented creative directors in San Francisco and chose Suzanne Shade, as she intuitively understood my vision for the Minted brand like no one else.”
Mariam was also extremely excited to focus our whole new ad campaign around the ‘inspiration board’ trend. “What I love about Suzanne’s concept,” says Mariam, “is that practically every woman in the US now not only understands the inspiration board, but probably has one of her own–or if she doesn’t have a physical board, she has one running in her head!”
Our holiday card features Oscar + Emma’s Nordic Snowflake, our third prize as voted by the community, as well as the recipient of two guest judge’s awards.
Alex Elko’s Four Square, the winner of our best multi-photo award was also included.
And we featured A Very Merry Christmas by Sarah Brown, with its envelope and striking envelope liner.
The calendar also features three amazing cards… Banner + Burst by Jody Wody.
Home for the Holidays by Oscar + Emma.
And Mod Berries by Oscar + Emma.
We have also been very excited about bringing on well known bloggers, like Victoria Smith from SF Girl By The Bay, and Jordan from Oh Happy Day to helm specific shoots.
Mariam was beyond impressed from her work with Jordan on the holiday series. “She just has an exceptional eye and incredibly unusual creativity,” says Mariam. “I could have spent all day poring over the incredible little gems she found for the shoot. I think she should give classes on how to lead a stylish life.”
Jordan blogged about styling the shoot here, but here are some of our favorite shots.
She brought with her an incredible array of treats for the shoot. Seriously, can you believe what Jordan has in her bag of tricks?!
Here Minted’s Annie Clark, Jordan, and Mariam are having a tough time trying to decide just what cards to include–it is hard when we have so many great ones to choose from!
A blow by blow of the ladies putting everything together!
First the cards and then the embellishments! Annie Clark says, “I just remember being totally in awe of jordan’s collection of ribbons and various ephemera!”
Everyone at Minted is just hoping we get the chance to work with Jordan again before she leaves for Paris!
And finally when everything was just perfect, the brilliant photographer Eva Kolenko does a color test before taking the final snap!
Lights, camera, action!
