This is an interesting concept. I'm wondering if you could space each line out a little more evenly in the repeat, so overall it look would look more like stripes. Right now, there's a little break in the reindeer and a large break in the nativities and I think it makes the eye stop in the breaks. The other elements are spaced pretty well -- maybe just need a couple minor tweaks?

Agree with Sarah's comment. Could space them closer together horizontally, then decrease the scale for everything? That would give it a stripe pattern effect and then the illustrations would be in the details. They would be seen when holding the gift close up.
