comments from Christine:

I love the crisp, clean look of chevrons, especially when a bold color is contrasted with white.

i love me some chevron, but here it seems to compete with the other elements of the invitation. love the huge date.

The chevron pattern has definitely been giving me a little bit of a challenge :-) . I'm still trying to find a way to work it. Thanks for your input!

like the chevron idea! I would try it in a lighter color like peach or yellow, and the pattern just a little smaller. The hearts + flourish seem unnecessary, and the names in script don't fit the style. Also, besides the large date, the other type seems large, and random sizes. Maybe try making all of the type on the bottom the same size + smaller (except for their names).

maybe a light gray, so that the text and hearts stand out? I'm a fan of the chevrons!

Changed the navy blue to sea foam green and added some peonies.
