comments from rachel yoo:

created with a fresh, spring wedding in mind. traditional chinese wedding characters mean double happiness and traditional chinese color of red is used.

should i use a more informal font than trajan pro for the text? and is the red dark enough?

I think the text and red color is good. The thing that looks a little funny to me is the black symbol in the top left corner. Perhaps it needs to be larger?

thanks, jessica. i decided to toss it up a bit more. it seemed a bit too forgettable before. do you think the characters still need to be bigger? and what do you think of the changes i made?

looking good rach. perhaps a thicker brushstroke on the asian character block in the upper left corner. the text font might look a little busy especially with the way the "a" and "m" carry down. perhaps increase the size of the little red flowers on the right-hand stalks. just my 2 cents.

thanks for the feedback - so helpful! i changed the following: 1. make the character lines a bit heavier weight, 2. changed the text font to be easier to read, 3. darkened up the red a smidge, 4. increased the sizes of the flowers a little and 5. moved the position of the names. my friend vincent suggested going with 3 fonts here. i tried it but i think it's just too small a surface area to do that. probably better for the 5x7 portrait maybe? hopefully this is an improvement.

hey rach, i really love the use of your lines in this one. they are very reminiscent of bamboo trees. i also really like the fact that you used a dark green font on the the bottom half of the invite, rather than using a black font. congratulations on your design, i think it was a mission accomplished.
