I have toyed with the idea of a pattern behind the main design: thin stripes. Something to add depth but I just can't decide if it's needed or if it will just become too busy.

Thanks for the feedback. Does this updated version feel "airier" in terms of the font? I used Avenir, but am open to other sans serif options.

This is cute. My suggestion is that the font size of the text between Ahoy and the flags be reduced a little. It is a little crowded.

I wouldn't add a background.... I love your colors and I think they pop nicely on white. :-) I would actually maybe simplify your type a little.... have you tried putting the party details in a small sans serif? Also, sizing them down to give the it more breathing room... Then you can scale the top type down a little as well...

I agree with whats already been said regarding the fonts size and simplifying the information underneath the flags, that would give you the ability to increase the leading of the top copy. I would also decrease the size of the wheel in "Ahoy" just a tad because it's a little overpowering right now and i think the 3 can just be the same size as the rest of the copy in that line since you made it a different color.
