About the Design

comments from Margaret:

My paintings focus on the mixing of colors. Often I pick opposites which I then work to bring the colors into abstract harmony. I love all things bright and vibrant.

How do you pick tags for abstract work? Just colors? Single words?

That is usually my way, With this one you could use words like: modern, industrial, minimalist, urban etc...

It's difficult! :) Typically, mine end up being single words. I always begin with the obvious and state the dominant colors and then I include the type of abstract (mine are typically abstract expressionism). I go a little further with the adjectives of whether it is dark, bright, pastels, minimalist, contemporary, modern etc. Sometimes I will include "home decor" or "wall decor". It really varies depending on how many tags that I am allowed however, I do try to use all of the available tags. Love your work by the way! Beautiful!!!

Natalie had some great abstract tag ideas for you. I usually also use single words and sometimes include mood--ie calm, mysterious, bold, etc.

Margaret, I think colors, and single words are great. Sometimes I use short descriptions of where it might be hung or describe the type of piece it is. Good luck!
