With such elaborate text for the "save the date" portion, i was left a little stumped on how to include the date and names without overpowering the rest of the card. Thoughts? Suggestions? TIA!

Maybe you should consider vertical layout. Maybe Play around with the background color, there is not much contrast with the exception of the names

Hi Katherine - Have you tried it with a different color background? One of the reasons the names seem so "heavy" is because they are so much brighter than your "Save the Date" text. The detail is lost because it's so similar in color to the background. If you haven't already, I'd try a lighter background with dark names and dates below. I think that would help balance it a bit more.
