I would love some feedback in general...This is my first piece to enter in a competition, and it always helps to have a set of fresh eyes take a look. Thanks!

B. Hi Susan, For this challenge I prefer the more subtle colors in this version.

I liked the placement of your figures in the first version. Consider how the angles draw your eye through the layout. In the first the fish looks up to the pastry, which then leads you up to the crab, then over to the glass. If you start on the lower left it leads you up to the bread which leads you up to the glass. It works. :) Keep playing with the color palette. I liked how bold the first was. Perhaps look at one of the preset color palettes you can load in Illustrator as a starting point.

I like your concept, but the colors don't seem right to me. Maybe more coastal type colors.

Welcome to Minted competitions! I like the grid. Have you tried the text as a fill instead of outline? I think it competes with the illustration a bit too much. Play around with your color palette a bit. For me the mustard yellow and bright yellow are in conflict. Play around with the balance of warm and cool colors.

Thank you Kim and Janelle! I really appreciate your feedback. Everything you said is something I thought, but wasn't certain about, and now I am sure that the colors need to change along with the font!
