"Light and Reflection" is one of several art prints that are part of my Old Salem Series. A second, "Mousetrap", is also an entry in Spaces and Places. http://www.minted.com/design-rating/640416. Here are full res versions of the two entries and a sneak peak at one of the others in the series that I'm working on.

This is beautiful! I absolutely love how you've captured light here. As well as the subtle textures in the walls and floors. The simplicity of the limited color palette really allows the window to "shine".

I'm a sucker for windows and light/shadow play. You've created a real sense of place in this painting. I love the dark wood that plays nicely against the light.

I am inspired by this painting. The serenity of the light coming thru and breaking on the wood flooring and the arch of the window. Love it!!

This is warm and inviting. Reminds me of buildings I saw in Austria. Or is it Moravian?

Hi Robert! I am waaay overdue in writing to you...my sincere apologies. I've had some personal matters that have been all consuming. I can't tell you how truly, truly touched I am to have received the numerous, incredibly touching, insightful and sincerely thoughtful comments from you. Every single compliment and insight you so generously bestowed onto my work has meant the world to me. Thank YOU so very much!!! Now, onto your work, which is incredibly strong..."Light and Reflection" is so beautifully balanced, perfectly lit and tranquil and conveys your skills as a top notch oil painter! This piece in particular reminds me of Johannes Vermeer's work, which is beyond incredible in my book! Vermeer utilized photography (the camera obscura) as a tool for many aspects of his work. I love that from the period of Degas to Picasso, photography and painting go hand in hand. You should be very proud of the powerful work that you have created. It would be an outstanding gift to view your original oils in person. What size canvas do you generally work on? Do you always work with oils or are acrylics ever used...always brush, too? It is a privilege to experience your work, Robert. The very best to you always, Jerusha
