I lightened the stripes and reduced the size of Merry Christmas. Not enough change? :o)

I like the current version with the lighter stripes. Very nice.

i ADORE your illustration. my suggestion would be to play around with the layout a bit – for example, i'm wondering what it would look like with the illustration more prominent, and the holiday wording smaller and beneath the illustration. i also agree on lighter stripes and a different font than ostrich. i'm pretty futura-biased lately, but futura condensed might be a nice alternative to the ostrich?

I'll also try the lighter translucent background... any suggestions on the color of the house? Keep it white? :o)

Here is another version with size and color change... not sure I improved it. Thoughts? :o)

Pat on Jun 14, 2012 at 8:13am

I like the original version, but maybe if you lightened the stripes it would help.

I'm a little late but I think this looks good! It's streamlined and I don't think you lost anything in the translation.

hey wendy, I think it's much better without the city, but I"m still feeling like the thin sans serif is too thin and very tight. It's really hard to read, IMHO especially the family name and date. How about adding a stroke [but not as heavy as Merry type] and loosening up the tracking?

This is cute. I like it without the city too. I would love to see the stripes in a lighter color... maybe a translucent white? Just a thought.

Hey Wendy, this is cute! What if you lost the city altogether? I don't think you need it and the burb drawing is much cuter.

Hi Wendy! I think I agree with Carol about removing the city. Maybe you can make a separate card - Merry Christmas from the city? Great illustration!! :)
