I chose B. I think it looks cleaner and will also allow as much room as is needed for any last name.

I like the balance of the added line though I would play with it a bit so it felt like there was an even amount of space above the happy new year and below. You might even be able to make it a tiny bit thinner - like a .75 or .5 stroke.

Nice layout! I think you can eliminate the blue rule line and add the year before or after the family name to clean it up a bit.

I think the blue name in A makes the design feel complete and well-rounded. Everything feels nicely spaced too. Good work!

B for me! I like the contrast in the colors. I'm not sure I'm sold on the script though. Maybe a script that's a bit more simple to compliment all the clean lines?
